The new administration of the Hotel-Restaurant “Le Grand Monarque”, Anne-Marie & Marc and their team welcome you to a former coaching inn that has become a charming Logis de France inn
with ** stars NN, **fireplace (national standard norms), ** “cocottes” (national culinary distinction).
You will be introduced to the burgundian art de vivre and its traditions.

The Hotel Restaurant is situated in an area full of charm and tranquility, in one of the most beautiful streets of Donzy with its timber frame dating from the 16th century.

At “Le Grand Monarque”, your comfort becomes the wish and priority of your hosts as soon as you arrive.

In a welcoming atmosphere, you will be able to enjoy winter nights by the fireplace, in a welcoming lounge illuminated by the great period fireplace.
During the summertime, the shaded terrace will offer you its splendid view of the 15th century church tower, which was built at the base of the battlements remaining from the castle.


Over the seasons, the Hotel-Restaurant “Le Grand Monarque” will offer you all the aspects of a friendly life such as: the possibility to meet you friends, organise family reunions, seminaries, feasts or meetings of groups of up to 50 persons.


The hotel’s bar will be the ideal place for a leisure time and the testing of wine from one of the neighbouring vineyards (du Giennois, Menetou Salon…).
We are “Logis Bacchus” (Vineyard Logis) (national oenological standard norm) and the good wine connoisseurs will have their taste met!
